FAQs

Do I need to be referred?

A referral is only required if a patient has opted for the family doctor model. But please don’t forget to bring your health insurance card even if that is the case.

When are stitches removed?

Generally speaking, stitches are removed after 10-12 days.

Do I have to bring my own walking aid?

If you don’t have your own walking aid, we can provide one for you.

Sports injuries at the weekend

If any medical emergencies happened over the weekend, you can be seen during the consultation hours for athletes on Mondays between 8am-12pm.

What should I do on the first day of surgery if I’m having an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction?

Ice is applied to the local area immediately after the operation

  • Keep the knee stretched
  • Take tablets to reduce inflammation for several days
  • Take painkillers if necessary
  • 1 injection daily to prevent thrombosis (until full weight bearing)
